A Message from OCEANS 2020 Singapore – U.S. Gulf Coast
We know many of you were excited and looking forward to participate in the in-person OCEANS conference both in Singapore and Gulf Coast. However, this year we have seen a remarkable change of events with the COVID-19 pandemic and all it has brought about. Considering the health and safety of our delegates, the sponsors of OCEANS have decided to host a virtual conference and that too on a global scale. Thus, we have the 1st ever virtual OCEANS, jointly organized by OCEANS 2020 Singapore and Gulf Coast teams. We are now preparing to take you around-the-world, virtually!
OCEANS 2020 Singapore – U.S. Gulf Coast offers you a fantastic opportunity to discover both Singapore and the Mississippi Gulf Coast in one go! With a single registration you get to enjoy the technical contents of two conferences and that too at the comfort of your home and at your convenience. We have reduced the author and attendee registration fees by more than 60% to allow as many of you to participate and gain from the conference. The student attendees can register for a meager $100 fee. The conference is expected to showcase close to 500 technical presentations, 4 to 6 tutorials and an equal number of plenaries and panel discussions on hot topics in the area of oceans science and technology. So, we strongly urge you to make use of this great and possibly one time opportunity.
Our conference themes have not changed. VISIONS FOR THE BLUE ECONOMY is still motivation and driver for Gulf Coast while GREEN PORTS IN HARMONY WITH OCEANS is the focus of Singapore. The merger of the Singapore and Gulf Coast technical program is currently underway, and we promise that great content will only be gained!
More details will follow in the coming days and weeks and, while in-person aspects will undoubtedly change, we are still intent on having great virtual exhibit booths, memorable live talks, and many special events like the student poster competition and the Young Professionals (YP) program. We thank you for your continued support, participation and, most especially, your patience. See you this October!
Finally, you can still catch up with our in-person conferences in 2023 (Gulf Coast) and 2024 (Singapore) respectively.
